Las Vegas businessman, Arash Hashemi, was accused of child abuse when his three-year-old daughter was dropped off at an emergency room with a fractured skull, bite marks, nails which had been ripped out and a body covered with bruises. Investigators maintained that the cause was systematic abuse. At the girl’s home, police found numerous bloodstains and a portrait of a notorious mobster on the front door.
Hashemi was found guilty of abuse, though his teeth did not match the bite marks that were found on the little girl’s body. The mother, who was held responsible for not reporting the incidents was granted custody of the child and moved to London. Now, Hashemi is fighting an international custody battle to get the girl back.
He claims that his child was, no doubt, abused, but that he had nothing to do with this. He says that he would like to find the person who is responsible, after he gets the girl back. Hashemi’s lawyer has said that his client is being treated unfairly because of his cultural background.
