Child Support Lawyer

Child support is an unequivocal right of children in the United States. From birth until the legal adult age of eighteen, or in some cases 21, children are entitled to the support of both parents. Child support agreements are often negotiated after a divorce, with the non custodial parent paying a set amount in monthly child support payments. These child support agreements may be mandated by family court, through mediation with a child support lawyer, or through private agreements. If a parent fails to make the payments set out in the child support agreement, they may face legal consequences. A child support lawyer should be consulted in the event of non-payment in order to be informed of the legal options available.
