Custody Battles

Custody battles are a term used to describe the legal case in which two parents are working to define the custody of a child or children. Custody battles imply that both parents and legal guardians have been unable to come to an agreement regarding the custody of their child. This may be a disagreement on physical custody of the child, legal custody of the child, visitation rights of the other parent and support of the child. In situations where there is no resolution on behalf of the parents, it becomes necessary for family court to become involved in the process. A judge may need to rule on which parent is best suited for custody or how joint custody will be divided.
