Multiple Child Custody

As long as adults have children and get divorced, there will always be situations where multiple children are present and need to be taken care of by the adults deemed responsible for them by biology or court order.

For instance, a man may pay child support for more than one child and to more than one woman for children he has with the women concerned.

Multiple Women

A parent may be awarded custody to more than one child, most commonly when there are multiple children in a family facing a divorce.  Multiple child support may also be assigned to a man who has fathered children with multiple women since parents are required to support all of the children, not just one or two.

Dual Child Custody

Dual child custody may be awarded if both parents are deemed fit, live nearby and ideally are still civil to one another.  Multiple child guardianship may be awarded to a third party or relative if there are children who are unable to stay in their parents' home due to parental issues or the children's refusal to live in that home.  The court would determine who is the best person to care for the children in such situations.

Non-Biological Mother Child Support

Finally, different mother child support may be required of a woman who has supported a child for a long enough period of time that she has forfeited her right to object.  This award could also be granted against a woman who has been the only mother figure a child has had.

Ultimately, any awards of custody and support are in the judge's discretion.
